Lens Types
Single Vision
Allows for only one focal point of vision, either distance, near, or intermediate (computer). The lens has the same correction, or optical focal point, over the whole area of the lens.
Bifocals
Contains two lens powers with different focal points, one for distant vision and the other for near vision.
Trifocals
Contains three lens powers with different focal points, one for distant vision, one for intermediate vision, and the other for near vision.
Progressive Lens
Provides a smooth transition between distance vision to near vision while eliminating the segment lines of a standard bifocal/trifocal. This allows clear vision at all distances, including the intermediate distance used around the computer range.
Lens Materials
Polycarbonate
These lenses are impact-resistant, ideal for kids and sports goggles. They are lightweight, adding comfort to your eyeglasses.
Trivex
Impact-resistant like the polycarbonate lenses, these lenses add the benefit of being lighter weight than polycarbonate. These lenses are easier to tint as well.
High Index
These lenses are thin and are ideal for rimless frames.
Very High Index
These lenses are the thinnest, making for a better appearance and less eye magnification. They are designed for people with strong prescriptions.
Lens Treatment and Coatings
Anti-Reflective Coating
This coating reduces eye strain caused by glare, reflections, and the halo rings you see around lights at night. The lenses become easier to clean, attract less dust/dirt, and are water and grease repellent. The coating also makes your vision sharper and lets others looking at you see your eyes, not the lenses.
Transitions
These lenses adjust to the changing of the light. The lenses are clear indoors and can quickly darken in outdoor sunlight to provide seamless comfort in changing conditions.
Polarization
Polarized lenses reduce glare and reflections on flat surfaces in sunglasses, such as road glare when driving or reflections on water surfaces.
Tint
Our colors range from gray, brown, green, blue, yellow, and pink and cut down on overall brightness. Our optical lab can make the tint in lenses a solid color or a gradient.
